Design Service

We believe that a great kitchen starts with a great design. Whether your project is a kitchen remodel or new construction, we evaluate the space and consider multiple design options to create the best solution for the customer. We listen to our clients and develop plans that include "must haves" and as many "nice-to-haves" as possible.  Through the eyes of an experienced designer, creative design options emerge that you may not have considered. 

 

Our design process is very customer-friendly and we do not require an up-front fee. The first meeting is typically at the client's home to discuss your project and take detailed measurements. After the space is measured and a preliminary design concept is agreed, we will prepare detailed plans - again with no up-front fee. The next meeting will be at the showroom to review the plans, look at design options in cabinetry and countertops, and discuss pricing. Provided the plans are approved and pricing is in line with the budget, we request a small design fee to release the plans to the customer, contractor, architect and others as needed. The design fee is credited to the cost of the cabinets, so in effect clients receive excellent design service at no charge.

 

Cabinets

We offer high quality cabinetry made in America. Our cabinets are made of plywood and solid hardwood. The cabinets include dovetail drawer boxes, soft close drawer slides and soft close hinges.

 

Our most popular line of cabinets is made for us by a custom cabinet manufacturer. We can provide high quality custom cabinets for the same or less than others charge for semi-custom cabinets by keeping our overhead low. Our custom cabinets come standard with 3/4" plywood construction, solid hardwood doors and drawerfronts, dovetail drawer boxes, soft close drawer slides and soft close hinges. Most other cabinet manufacturers use particleboard for their standard construction and charge substantially more to upgrade to 1/2" plywood. We use full 3/4" furniture grade plywood with glue and dowel construction and dadoed back panels for strenth.

 

You can choose frameless full overlay style cabinets or inset style cabinets with square or beaded face frames.  With the popularity of painted cabinets, customers looking for high quality finishes are often dissapointed to see "orange peel" and other defects in some national cabinet manufacturer's products. You can see the difference with our finishes - described as "automotive quality" for their smooth, rich look. We offer custom finishes from Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams or a customer provided sample by request.

* Wood species include cherry, maple, walnut, hickory, ash, knotty pine, rustic cherry, mahogany, red oak, white oak, straight grain oak, rift cut oak, others by request. All hardwood is from environmentally responsible sources.

 

Countertops

Our countertop fabricator has been in business for over 20 years and has the same high regard for quality and customer service that we feel so strongly about. They offer many types of stone countertops - including granite, marble, limestone, soapstone and others - along with a large selection of quartz countertops from Silestone, Caesarstone, Cambria and others.  Pricing is very competitive and their after-the-sale customer service is unmatched in the industry.

 

We work with clients who are buying cabinets from us and need new countertops; and also with clients who are only interested in replacing their existing countertops. 

 

Once the new base cabinets are installed (or existing cabinets are prepped), the countertop template is made. The template is used by high tech machines at the shop to layout and cut the slabs to fabricate your countertops. For most jobs, we can offer a 3 or 4 day turnaround from the time the template is made to the installation of your new countertops.
